About the Author

Where do I start?

I’m sure everybody at some point in their lives, has said to themselves, “I should write a book about this“, or, “No one would believe this if it happened in a book”, or ” This would make a great story.”

If you enjoy reading, the idea of writing one yourself may well have crossed your mind. Many people give it some serious considerations, and some will go one step further and sit down with a keyboard at their fingertips and start typing.

You may have an all consuming personal story that you feel compelled to commit to your legacy. You may love telling stories. Or, you may simply love the idea of being an author and get huge pleasure from seeing the words march across the screen.

Sadly not everyone will get to the end of their book. It’s a lot of hard work and it takes more than a little determination. Even if you do get to the end and type THE END with an exaggerated flourish, it’s only the beginning if you want to get your story into the hands of readers.

Getting Sharp Focus to where it’s at now, has taken many more years than I care to admit. I could make excuses – not enough time, too many other things going on etc etc, but I felt it was a good story and what started as a hobby project has developed into something of a passion.

As a reader, I love to become embroiled in a story and invest in the characters. I always know if a book has gripped me if I find  the characters and whatever dilemma they face is impacting on my dreams.

I hope that with Susie Jones, I’ve created a protagonist that readers will root for and care about. She has a whole world of corruption, criminality and exploitation to investigate and expose. Enough to keep me busy and readers happy for years to come.
