About the Author
At some point in their lives, many people have said to themselves, “I should write a book about this“, or, “No one would believe this if it happened in a book”, or ” This would make a great story.”
For those who enjoy reading, the idea of writing may well have crossed your mind. Many people give it some serious considerations, and some will go one step further and sit down with a keyboard at their fingertips and start typing.
You may have an all consuming personal story that you feel compelled to commit to your legacy. You may love telling stories. Or, you may simply love the idea of being an author and get huge pleasure from seeing the words march across the screen.
Sadly not everyone will get to the end of their book. It’s a lot of hard work and it takes more than a little determination. Even if you do get to the end and type THE END with an exaggerated flourish, it’s only the beginning if you want to get your story into the hands of readers.
I’m not sure which of the above definitions I fall into, probably a little of all of them, but I have loved the process of producing firstly ‘Sharp Focus’ then ‘Anarchy’, and now ‘Silent Thunder. When I started, I had no idea where it was going to go. I hadn’t heard of KDP and all the other platforms set up to help authors self-publish. A few years further on, I still have much to learn and the landscape is constantly changing, but I love the process and get a real buzz from reviews and reactions.
I hadn’t thought about creating a series and characters who would return in subsequent books. A surprise really considering how many books I read and how much I enjoy catching up with familiar people in familiar places. What started as a hobby has turned into something of a passion and I have plans and rough ideas for Susie Jones that I hope will keep readers hooked for many years to come.
Enjoy
